unnamedOlivier Lafont, who wowed audiences and had them in splits with his hilarious role as Suhas Tandon in 3 Idiots, is showing more of his artistic talent with the publication of an epic fiction novel Warrior, published by Penguin this week.

The hunky Frenchman, a trained actor with a BA in acting, is a familiar face on television from having endorsed top brands in over seventy TV commercials. Lafont is now keen to take on more serious and dramatic film work: “I’d like something kind of dark and fun, something with some heavy-duty, realistic action,” he says with a glint in his eyes.

In the meantime Lafont is busy with the release of Warrior, an epic adventure story set in modern India with mythological elements. He was also published in South Africa, and has written several feature film screenplays before. The first film he wrote opened at the Toronto Film Festival and won awards at several film festivals worldwide. About his scriptwriting,Lafont says, “In fact I’ve recently written a feature film script with myself as the main character. It’s a really fun comedy, something everyone in India can easily relate to and laugh about, and I’m currently looking to partner with a producer for it.”

Actor, model, screenplay writer, and now author. Lafont has impressed audiences with his mastery of comedy. Readers familiar with him can expect no less from his book Warrior, which was shortlisted for the Tibor Jones South Asia Prize. With a stubble and some added muscle, the stunning 6-ft actor looks athletic and lean, and ready to take on the world.
