” It Is None Of My Business ’’……….Somehow I keep hearing this sentence a lot these days……It seems like , It is the ‘’ En Vogue ‘’ statement now . As if to be with the crowd you have to know these magic words and using them will make you look kind of cool . We tend to dismiss so many situations with a simple shrug and by quoting this sentence . But have we ever stopped to think that somehow or the other any and everything which happens in this world “Is our business’’……We would be living in a fool’s paradise if we keep hiding behind such sentences and like an ostrich bury our head in the sand of ignorance  and pretence…..

Still not convinced  I see……..All right allow me to explain that with the help of a short moral story -The Mouse Trap, told and retold a million times ….

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package… “What food might this contain?” The mouse wondered – he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning. There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!”

The chicken, the pig , the cow all said, “Mr. mouse, we can tell this is a grave concern to you but it is of no consequence to us . We cannot be bothered by it.” So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer’s mousetrap– alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house — like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer’s wife.

The farmer rushed her to the hospital and she returned home with a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup,  so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup’s main ingredient. But his wife’s sickness continued, so friends and neighbours came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer’s wife did not get well ; She died.

So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them. The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

So the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it does not concern you , think twice . Remember we are all involved in this journey called life . glaciers melting in Arctic region – of course will affect us…..couples getting divorced – soon it will become a trend being followed by many……Hooligans eve teasing – yes I am involved [ when the moral fabric of society tears it takes me down too ] . But yes ! Use your intelligence to set limits to the degree of involvement.

So guys a humble request – reach out . Everything that goes round , comes around , and by Divine Intervention I know it will boomerang back at the time you would be needing it the most . At that point of your life you would be so filled with gratitude that the ones reaching out to you did not simply shrug their shoulders and say ‘’ It’s none of my business ‘’

and also take this opportunity to thank all those who were there for you at one point or the other in your life ……….Had they not been there , your life could have taken a turn for worse …..Hope I made my point clear .
