Whole Foods- Whole paycheck. People pay a premium to shop at Whole Foods, believing the price is just for the health benefits the store’s supposedly superior groceries and produce have. Truth? Not so much.

The 24 Whole Foods store in the New York City area are under an investigation probe. Whole Foods has been overcharging the customers since 2010.

Inspectors weighed different produce and grocery items at the various stores and found that every label was inaccurate. The spokesman from Whole Foods said that the discrepancy was not intentional. It is hard to believe that it wasn’t deliberate only because all labels were mislabeled.

The overcharges ranged from 80 cents for a package of pecan panko to $14.84 for a container of coconut shrimp, Lootens said.

Whole Foods will pay $58,000 in fines and penalties in the NYC area.

Whole Foods is under investigation in many states across USA. In California they will pay $800000 in fines.
