The 46 Types Of People On Facebook

Social media researchers and digital anthropologists have had a field day classifying the behavioral archetypes that populate Facebook — the patterns of posting, sharing, and engagement that, once you see them, become impossible to unsee.
The Chronic Humble-Bragger. Every post about their morning run ("Just a quick 10K before the board meeting!"), their child's latest achievement, or their latest vacation is technically framed as something else. They're not showing off — they're sharing, and if what they're sharing happens to make their life look exceptional, well, they can't help what's true.
The Vaguebooker. Their posts consist entirely of cryptic emotional telegrams: "Some people..." "Well. That happened." "Grateful for the ones who know." They invite concern without providing any information, guaranteeing a flood of "Are you okay??" comments that they then decline to clarify.
The News Aggregator. Their feed is an unbroken stream of shared articles, mostly alarming, with zero original commentary. You have no idea what they actually think about any of it — only that they want you to be worried.
The Eternal Optimist. Every post is a sunrise, an inspirational quote in a decorative font, or a video of a child doing something unexpectedly generous. Life, according to their feed, is a continuous sequence of small miracles.
The Birthday Acknowledger. Posts exactly once a year: on their birthday, to thank everyone for the messages. Has 847 friends. Is never heard from otherwise.
The Philosophical Memer. Shares deep-seeming quotes attributed to Einstein, Buddha, or Rumi — the majority of which those individuals did not actually say — with a "So true" or a simple heart emoji.
The Over-Documentarian. Every meal, every outing, every mundane Tuesday is captured and posted in real time. Their profile is essentially a hyperlocal surveillance archive.
The taxonomy is endless, of course. Most of us, if honest, recognize ourselves in at least two or three.
