Naperville High Schools Rank High on Washington Post's 2014 Most-Challenging List
In April 2014, the Washington Post released its annual ranking of America's most challenging high schools — and several Naperville-area schools made the cut.
Metea Valley was named the 21st most challenging high school in Illinois on the Post's 2014 list. Neuqua Valley came in at No. 36, and Waubonsie Valley at No. 58. The national list includes fewer than 10 percent of high schools in the country.
Statewide, only 65 of Illinois's 682 public high schools and 146 non-public high schools made the Post's list. The College Prep School of America in Lombard topped the Illinois rankings.
The Washington Post's index ranks schools by a simple ratio: the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that spring.
