India Is the Check to Pakistan, Donald Trump Declares
Donald Trump is blunt, and by September 2015 people had mostly stopped being shocked by him. Used to his provocative one-liners, the public took them in stride — but his remarks on South Asia still landed.
He won millions of hearts by saying that "India is the check to Pakistan." In a September 3, 2015 interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, Donald Trump called Pakistan "probably the most dangerous," comparing it to North Korea. Pakistan is "a serious problem" because they have nuclear weapons that work and "a lot of them," just like North Korea and its "mad man," Trump explained.
He explained further: "You have to get India involved ... They have their own nukes and have a very powerful army. They seem to be the real check ... I think we have to deal very closely with India to deal with it (Pakistan)," said Trump, about his foreign policy goals.
He declined to answer the question of whether he would send troops to Pakistan. Instead he said, "You want to have a little bit of guess work for the enemy."
He is still a strong frontrunner.
