The gossip columns of April 2011 were full of one question: were Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reuniting? The honest answer was on screen, not in life — buzz had the pair set to co-star in Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, a Yash Raj Films spy thriller.

The personal history needed no retelling: Salman's relationship with Katrina had ended around 2009, and every public sighting since had been parsed for signs of reconciliation.
