Dhoom 3 Shooting In Chicago
The Windy City is going Bollywood. Shooting for Dhoom 3: Back in Action, the third installment of Yash Raj Films' popular buddy-cop action series, began in downtown Chicago on August 8 — with scenes filmed at Wabash and Randolph on the very first day.
The film stars Aamir Khan as a thief who is a skilled acrobat, able to elude the hero cop of the series and his sidekick — played by Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra.
Chicago has become the film's second home: scenes will be shot across the Loop for months, from lower Michigan Avenue and Hubbard Street to lower Wacker Drive. Aamir, who is playing the villain, was spotted riding a custom BMW motorcycle in a black outfit.
Downtown residents quickly caught on that something was happening. The shoot began under a working title — "Victor's Venom," with the crew telling property managers it was a company called "Big Rock LLC" — reminiscent of Rory's First Kiss, the fake title that turned out to be The Dark Knight.
More scenes will be shot in Chicago through December. Dhoom 3 will be in Hindi and is scheduled for release next year.
