The entire schedule of the romantic comedy Ghanchakkar was reportedly planned around its lead actress Vidya Balan's real-life wedding. With days to go before she married Siddharth Roy Kapur, managing director of Studios at Disney UTV, her work on the film was being rush-completed.

Sources said Vidya and Kapur had chalked out their wedding plans well in advance, and since Ghanchakkar was a UTV production, coordinating the shoot with the wedding date was convenient. The film co-starred Emraan Hashmi and was directed by Rajkumar Gupta.

Gupta had his own complication: his younger brother's wedding in his hometown Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, the same week. He had to rush back to Mumbai for Vidya's final three days of shooting, December 12 to 15, after which she would take a long sabbatical.

Caught in the middle of his brother's wedding festivities, Gupta admitted the squeeze: "Yes, we've to shoot from Dec 12-15. After that I've one week-long schedule in January. But Vidya is not required for that."

Asked whether the schedule had been synced with her wedding plans, he turned evasive: "The schedules were worked out well in advance, so that Vidya's work was completed by the middle of December. Vidya has been with the project all through, giving a hundred percent of herself."

Sources close to the production were less coy, noting that Gupta, a dear friend of both Vidya and Hashmi, had fully cooperated to wrap her portions before her time off.
